THE BONNIE SPRINGS MOTEL SUNDAY MAY
11.
We are still waking up very
early in the morning, I checked our email and discovered that Bill was also
awake early. We arranged that after breakfast we would drive our rental car over
to their hotel and collect Bill, Mark Heiser and Vickie and take them over to
Eaglerider to collect their bikes. We drove out to the Bonnie Springs Motel with
all of the luggage, because we have the luxury of having a Chase van for all the
suitcases which of course you can't carry on a bike. The Bonnie springs motel is
like taking a step back in time, it combines motel, petting Zoo, farm with a
restaurant and a bar, The style is old west meets the 1950's which fits the age
range of most of the riders.
After dropping the luggage and
checking into our room we drove back into Vegas picked up the bike from the NYNY
hotel car park, returned our rental car to the airport and then had our first
two-up ride on the Harley back to the BS Motel. Brenda and I never had the
chance to practice in the UK prior to departure, so it was Brenda's first time
on pillion for a number of years.
The ride to the motel was without
incident and our two way intercom worked fine. The temperature was in the
mid nineties, when we ride tomorrow we will wearing less clothing!
When we got back to the motel in
mid afternoon most of the group had arrived. We retired to the bar for some
refreshment followed by an early steak supper. The owner of the motel and the
Bonnie of Bonnie Springs joined us for a group photo. Loren has issued all of us
with a detailed route book with information about all the places we are going to
visit. Tomorrow we start the ride
