We left home very early and arrived at Gatwick in good time only to discover that there had been a system breakdown and although we had checked in online there was a 2 hour queue for the bag drop! We ended up being fast tracked through security and had to go straight to the departure gate, as soon as we passed through the gate we were chosen to be  body searched and our hand luggage was gone through before we were allowed on to the plane I told Brenda the Burkah was a bad idea.

By the time we took our seats were having a sense of humour failure!

The flight was full and although it left an hour late we managed to arrive on schedule thanks to a strong tail wind.  We stayed awake until 10 PM by which time we had been up for 24 hours hoping this would help us get on to West coast time. We both woke at 04:30 hence the update!

We spent the afternoon visiting familiar places.
