RIDE DAY 5 FRIDAY 16TH MAY.
FAR VIEW LODGE MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK TO ANASAZI INN KAYENTA.
We started the day with a visit to the Mesa Verde National Park and a guided tour of the Balcony House which is a ceremonial dwelling built into a natural cave in the canyon face. getting there involved climbing ladders and crawling through tiny passages, it was a tight squeeze!
We left around 12:00 and rode the short distance to the four corners national monument, the point at which you can stand with your limbs in four states, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona. We had lunch bought from the Indian stalls around the monument and headed out for an an amazing ride through Monument valley to Kayenta and the Anasazi Inn. Although there was a restaurant at the hotel a few went in the van to a local Cafe called the Amigo. We had a great Mexican meal, even though from the outside it looked very basic.
